Panel 1:  Crafting a Resume & CV for Success: Industry, Research, & Graduate School 

A strong resume or CV is essential for students pursuing careers in science, technology, and research. This interactive workshop will help attendees craft impactful resumes and CVs that highlight their academic achievements, research experience, and technical skills.  Participants will learn how to tailor their documents for industry, graduate school, and research opportunities, ensuring they stand out to employers, faculty, and funding organizations.

 

Rebekah Harriger, M.A.

Rebekah Harriger currently serves as the Senior Director of Career Services & Experiential Learning at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. In this role, she spearheads the oversight and enhancement of career services and experiential learning programs.  Rebekah strives to empower individuals through the cultivation of skills and self-assurance essential for effective participation in experiential learning. By nurturing these experiential learning opportunities, she hopes these experiences help to create a pathway to STEM careers. In 2020, her dedication earned her recognition as one of Harrisburg’s Young Professionals “20 in their 20s,” in addition she was distinguished as a “Tech Titan,” underscoring her unwavering commitment to paving pathways to STEM professions within the Harrisburg community. The Society for Experiential Education honored Rebekah in 2021 with the Experiential Education Rising Leader Award, a testament to her exceptional efforts in the field.  Notably, she is a graduate of the Society for Experiential Education’s Experiential Education Academy, a distinction reserved for individuals who have significantly advanced the field and profession of experiential education on a national level. Rebekah was a recent Research Fellow (2022-2024) in the Society for Experiential Learning Fellows Program, further emphasizing her dedication to ongoing professional growth and the advancement of experiential education.

 

Emily Lupi, M.A.

Emily Lupi is a dedicated career services professional with experience in employer relations, recruiting, and student career development. Emily currently serves as the Employer Relations Coordinator at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. She has worked closely with students to navigate internships, job searches, and professional growth helping them to confidently take the next step in their careers. Her expertise lies in employer engagement, program development, recruitment strategies, career coaching, and professional development. Emily serves on the national taskforce through the National Association of Colleges and Employers prioritizing aligning career readiness competencies.

 

 

 

 

Evan Fleischauer, M.S.Ed.

Evan Fleischauer is a dedicated higher education professional passionate about guiding students toward career success. As a Career & Employment Programs Liaison at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, he bridges the gap between education and opportunity by supporting students through the on-campus employment onboarding process, career exploration, and professional development. Collaborating with Human Resources and Career Services, Evan streamlines student employment processes, coordinates career events, and ensures students have access to the transportation resources they require.

Emily Esquea, PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY.

Erin King, MS, BS is a clinical research coordinator for the Pennsylvania State University Neuroscience Institute at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA
