Deadline for applications: March 31, 2025 for travel to the PAS annual conference. 

Funds up to $250 are now available from the Pennsylvania Academy of Sciences to support students who wish to travel to the PAS Annual Meeting. Funding for travel to other conferences may be considered, but priority will be given to support travel to the PAS Annual meeting. 

The application process is simple. You will need the following for your completed application, via this Qualtrics survey link:

  • The travel grant application form with the abstract for the conference 
  • If you are applying for support to present at PAS, your accepted abstract will be sufficient. If you are applying for the upcoming PAS annual meeting and have just submitted an abstract, simply indicate on the form “Abstract submitted to PAS”, and we will look for it.   You do not need to supply a letter of support from your mentor. 
  • If you are applying for support to present a meeting other than the PAS Annual meeting, we request a brief letter of support from your adviser/mentor indicating the need for the travel funds. 

Return your form and letter of support as needed via email to David Singleton (dsinglet@ycp.edu). Applications are accepted on a rotating basis, dependent on availability of funds. 

For travel grants to the PAS Annual Meeting, funds will be sent as a reimbursement for travel costs. There is insufficient time between the submission deadline and the conference to send checks out prior to travel. Additionally, funds will be sent out as a single check for all students from an institution, paid to the order of the faculty mentor.
