Microbiology: A full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor is available in the Department of Biological Sciences at York College of Pennsylvania to teach Microbiology beginning in August 2008. The appointee will be primarily responsible for teaching a 200-level Microbiology course (lecture and lab) for Allied Health and Nursing majors, focused on the medical fields. While teaching Microbiology will be the primary responsibility, the successful candidate will also teach a related course for non-science majors. Serving as an academic advisor to Biology majors and involving undergraduates in ongoing research projects will also be required. The opportunity to design an upper division elective course for majors in the candidate's area of scientific expertise may exist. Desired qualifications for this position include a terminal degree in biology or a related field, a record of successful teaching and research at the undergraduate level, a solid background in Microbiology, and excellent written a nd oral communication skills.
